PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an agent for suppressing the production of IgE antibody specific for cedar pollen or house dust, and a food or drink for suppressing the production of IgE antibody specific for the antigen, takable over a long period without causing side action and exhibiting excellent antiallergic effect against allergic diseases produced by allergens, especially cedar pollen or house dust.

SOLUTION: The agent for suppressing the production of IgE antibody specific for cedar pollen or house dust contains bacterial cells separated from the human intestines or a fermented food as an active component. The bacterial strain is preferably Enterococcus faecalis FERM BP-10284 (deposition number of the International Patent Organism Depositary of the National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology). The agent for suppressing the production of IgE antibody specific for cedar pollen or house dust is used for suppressing the production of IgE antibody specific for cedar pollen in pollen allergy patients or suppressing the production of IgE antibody specific for house dust in atopic dermatitis patients.
