<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To securely prevent theft even in such a case that incorporation of an anti-theft mechanism is discovered. <P>SOLUTION: This anti-theft device for a construction work machine 1 is provided with an ID code stored in an engine start key 33 to start an engine 7, and an immobilizer control part 35 to collate it with an ID code stored on the side of the construction work machine 1, and permit start of the engine 7 in the construction work machine 1 when both agree with each other.
