<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To briefly and rapidly perform processing to eject recording material remaining in an image forming apparatus by changing a method for ejecting the recording material according to the position of the remaining recording material in the midst of forming images on both sides of the recording material. <P>SOLUTION: In the image forming apparatus, the recording material is ejected toward an ejection part (S2 and S5) if the recording material remains without being engaged with a reverse conveyance part for driving and conveying the recording material in a reverse path, where the recording material is reversed from its front surface to its back surface and conveyed to an image forming part, by a reverse part interposed between the ejection part and the reverse path and switching the conveying direction of the recording material so that the recording material may be conveyed to the reverse path or the ejection part. If the recording material remains in such a state that it is engaged with the reverse conveyance part, the recording material is ejected through the same path as when image formation on both sides of the recording material is completed (S3, S4, S6 to S8). <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
