<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a spatial information detection system which can obtain a significant amplitude image by reducing the saturation of a light receiving output using an amplitude image with a difference taken so that the influence of ambient light is removed. <P>SOLUTION: A light emitting means 2 repeats turning on and off alternately to irradiate an object Ob with signal light. A photographing means 1 receives the signal light reflected by the object Ob and generates a light receiving output in accordance with a change in the amount of light received for each pixel. A difference calculation means 4 determines the difference in the amount of light received between a turning-on period and a turning-off period for each pixel in sync with a modulation signal. An amplitude image generation means 5 generates an amplitude image having differences between the pixels determined by the difference calculation means 4 as pixel values. A saturation decision means 6 compares the magnitude of the light receiving output during the turning-on period and a saturation threshold. When decided that the light receiving output is larger than the saturation threshold, the output value of the difference calculation means 4 becomes its maximum, and a light receiving optical system 11 or a light irradiation means 21 are controlled so that the light receiving output decreases through an area specification means 7, a brightness detection means 8, and a correction processing means 9. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
