<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To form an organic EL layer having a flat surface by using an ink jet method. <P>SOLUTION: A hole part 90 is opened to a coating liquid 51 from a first side wall surface 48a, and is extended into a bank part 47 along the Y direction in the figure. When the coating liquid 51 is applied to a recess 62, a part of the coating liquid is set free from the recess through the hole part. The coating liquid before drying is sucked out to the outside of the recess from the hole part by capillarity, in other words, it is sucked into the hole part extending in the bank part 47. At this point, force Fy1 acts on the coating liquid remaining in the recess along the Y direction in the figure, and the surface of the coating liquid is flattened along the Y direction. At the same time, since the force Fy1 acts on the coating liquid along the Y direction, force Fx1 acts so as to flatten the surface along the X direction, force acting on the coating liquid from each of the first side wall surface and a second side wall surface 48b is adjusted so that force acting on the coating liquid from the first side wall surface 46a becomes relatively small, and the surface of the coating liquid is flattened along the Y direction and the X direction. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT</p> |
