PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heterodyne type FM-CW radar installation that discriminates whether a signal appearing on the radar is a signal from a target or from noise other than this, even when the signal of the target, including noise and the like, is generated. SOLUTION: The heterodyne type FM-CW radar installation transmitting FM modulation wave, FM-modulated by adding a signal for modulation to a voltage control oscillator from a modulation signal generator and receiving reflected waves, comprises a means for changing the frequency of a signal for down-converting (IF signal) and a means for discriminating signal changing with the change of the frequency, when the frequency of the IF signal is changed so that the signal from the target can be discriminated from other signals.
