Described is a method for the detection of an external administration of human growth hormone (hgh) in a blood sample, which is characterised by the determination of an up- or down-regulation of expression of at least one gene of the list according to Fig.8 compared to a normal sample, wherein the presence of said up- or down-regulation indicates an external administration of human growth hormone .
