PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To record detail information on the decode of each content file without significantly increasing the size of an index file.

SOLUTION: A content file and an index file for managing the content file are recorded in an optical disk. A property file FP constituting the index file has a decode information storage area (system information entry) containing a file entry corresponding to each content file and information (AV profile entry) on the decode of each content file. In each file entry, pointer information (profile entry index) pointing information on the decode of the corresponding content file recorded in the decode information storage area is set.
