<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To manufacture a membrane electrode assembly enhancing durability of joining between a catalyst electrode layer and a polymer electrolyte membrane, a three-phase interface quantity, and joining capability. <P>SOLUTION: The manufacturing method of the membrane electrode assembly is such that catalyst slurry containing a catalyst component 1, a conductive material 4, and a polymer electrolyte 3 is applied to a transfer sheet on a cathode side and an anode side to obtain a catalyst layer applied sheet in which a catalyst layer precursor is formed, the catalyst layer applied sheet for the anode side and the cathode side is transferred on each side of the polymer electrolyte membrane, and before the transfer process, at least one selected from the catalyst applied sheet on the cathode side, the catalyst applied sheet on the anode side, and the polymer electrolyte is heat-treated under a humidified gas atmosphere. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
