<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a messaging system allowing easy provision of proper presence information, and hardly imparting a monitored feeling or a restraint feeling to a user when using an image of the user as the presence information. <P>SOLUTION: When requirement is given from another messaging terminal 100, this messaging terminal 100 adjusts a camera 252 such that the camera 252 is focused on a photographic object during imaging, and transmits an image during the imaging to the other messaging terminal 100 through a communication control part 230.
