<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To display an image improved in visibility according to a peripheral environment by reducing a dead angle of a peripheral state visual recognition area of a vehicle by a simple operation, to reduce a burden of a driver, to enhance safety, and to improve the fuel consumption of the vehicle and environmental friendliness. <P>SOLUTION: The photographing/display system is provided with right/left side rearward and front rearward photographing devices arranged with a photographing element and an optical axis of a lens eccentric with each other; one or more detection means for grasping the vehicle peripheral environment; a vehicle periphery photographing environment detection evaluation device for evaluating the environment of the vehicle periphery and the photographing state of the photographing element by the detection means; a control device for controlling the photographing setting of the vehicle periphery state photographing device according to an output of the vehicle periphery environment detection evaluation device; an image editing treatment device for image quality-processing the photographed vehicle peripheral state image according to the output of the vehicle peripheral environment detection evaluation device to output it; and a display control device for selecting the image display by a driver by the simple operation and controlling the display state.
