PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To precisely build in an optical system like a prism independently of component precision of a lens barrel itself. SOLUTION: A prism 37 placed on a placing base 82 is inserted from an opening provided in a lower part of an upper lens barrel 36, and a contact face 36f of the upper lens barrel 36 and a reference face 81a of a jig main body 81 are brought into contact with each other. A contact face 87a of a positioning jig 87 is brought into contact with a light incidence face 37a of the prism 37, and then a positioning jig 90 is moved till a ridgeline 90a is brought into contact with a total reflection face 37c of the prism 37. In a process of this movement, a contact face 90a of the positioning jig 90 presses a wall face 36g. When the ridgeline 90a of the positioning jig 90 is brought into contact with the total reflection face 37c of the prism 37, the prism 37 and the upper lens barrel 36 are positioned.
