PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink cartridge which eliminates complicated working for discarding processing, and enables sure opening and closing of an ink feeding path. SOLUTION: Not only a frame 100, a case 200 and a cap 300 are composed of a resin material, but also a valve mechanism 530 is composed of a resin material, and no metal material is used. Therefore, discarding can be carried out by burning the ink cartridge 1. For example, in the case of an ink cartridge in which an energizing member for the valve mechanism 530 is composed of a metal, discarding takes cost because the ink cartridge should be disassembled to take out the energizing member when it is discarded.
