PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To use one vertical scanning circuit both for scan for reading stored electric charge and scan for sweeping the stored electric charge, to use one multiplexer for output of a signal for reading the stored electric charges and a signal for sweeping the stored electric charges to reduce chip area and to raise yield. SOLUTION: This solid-state imaging apparatus has a plurality of two-dimensionally arranged pixels 1, horizontal and vertical scanning circuits 7, 11 which output signals for reading the stored electric charges of pixels and the multiplexer 10 which supplies control signals to elements constituting the respective pixels based on an output signal of the vertical scanning circuit, outputs a scanning signal for reading the stored electric charges and a scanning signal for sweeping the stored electric charges of the pixels using one vertical scanning circuit and supplies the signal for reading the stored electric charges and the signal for sweeping the stored electric charges as the control signals based on the scanning signal for reading the stored electric charges and the scanning signal for sweeping the stored electric charges using one multiplexer circuit.
