PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a metal complex compound which is excellent in a light-emitting characteristic and durability, and an organic electroluminescent element which contains it. SOLUTION: The organic electroluminescent element contains at least one layer of an organic compound layer between a pair of electrodes, and a platinum complex having a specified structure is contained in the organic compound layer.
