PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform interpolation at an appropriate speed without decelerating rapidly or stopping even when very minute block instructions are made in a large quantity and at high speed. SOLUTION: A read-ahead block number PN is read (b1). The block number MAX_NUM set as the number which can be read-ahead and a value obtained from ratio K regarded as a sufficient amount of read-ahead blocks are compared with the block number PN (b2). When the block number PN is larger, only one interpolation cycle is increased to the current speed; when the block number PN is smaller, only one interpolation frequency is decelerated to the current speed and a theory speed is obtained (b3 and b4). The theory speed FB is compared with a command speed FC (b5), and the smaller one is made a change speed FD (b6 and b7). Interpolation processing is performed at the change speed FD. Since speed in the interpolation processing is decreased or increased according to the read-ahead block number, the speed does not decrease rapidly or there is no stop. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
