PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing at low cost a brake shoe having a shape of circular arc economically and through simple procedures being free of gap generation in the central part of the top surface having a T-shape by lessening the materials to be disposed of as much as practicable. SOLUTION: The invention applies to the method for manufacturing the brake shoe shaped in a circular arc formed so that a short block-form metal A having such dimensions as able to produce a single brake shoe in a shape of circular arc is subjected to drawing to be processed into a T-shape consisting of a flat portion and a protruding portion perpendicular thereto, to yield a metal processed article having a shape of circular arc in which the mentioned protruding part should lie inside, and a friction member is secured fast to or molded in a single piece with the flat portion of the outside surface of the metal processed article, and also a brake shoe manufacturing method whereby a friction member is secured fast to or molded in a single piece with the flat portion of the outside surface of the metal processed article in a shape of circular arc fabricated using a short block-form metal B having dimensions to allow establishment of a single brake shoe in a shape of circular arc and a long block-form metal having dimensions able to produce a plurality of brake shoes in a shape of circular arc.
