PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a mounting structure capable of removing a metallic plate pillar garnish engaged and fixed by a synthetic resin clip without breaking the clip. SOLUTION: In the mounting structure for the pillar garnish 2, a locking portion 20 bulging to a pillar side is provided on the metallic plate pillar garnish 2 covering the pillar outer surface of the vehicle, and a locking hole 21 is formed thereat. An engaging surface 31 having a locking claw 32 fitting with the locking hole 21 is formed on the synthetic resin clip 3 provided on the pillar outer surface, and an elastic supporting piece 33 closely opposing the engaging surface 31 is provided. The locking portion 20 of the pillar garnish 2 is pressed between the engaging surface 31 and the elastic supporting piece 22, thereby fitting the locking claw 32 in the locking hole 21. In this case, at least an end in the lateral direction of the locking claw 32 is formed on a taper surface 34 in the locking claw 32 so as to make the lateral width of a claw tip side smaller than that on a claw base side. The pillar garnish 2 is moved in a direction along the tapered surface 34, thereby releasing engagement between the locking hole 21 and the locking claw 32. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
