PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cushioning structure of a sole facilitating a design arbitrarily disposing members having necessary functions to respective portions of the sole by considering an application, a concept and cost of a shoe. SOLUTION: This cushioning structure of the sole is provided with a resin base plate 1 covering at least parts of a middle foot part M and a back foot part B for supporting the middle foot part M and the back foot part B, and a plurality of cushioning modules 2<SB>1</SB>-2<SB>4</SB>disposed under the base plate 1 and formed into separate bodies mutually. The base plate 1 has positioning elements for positioning the respective cushioning modules 2<SB>1</SB>-2<SB>4</SB>. Each cushioning module 2<SB>1</SB>-2<SB>4</SB>is provided with: a cushioning element 20 having a part projecting downward from the lower face of the base plate 1 and absorbing the landing impact; an outer sole 25 joined with the lower face of the cushioning element 20 and grounding on a road surface; and an element to be positioned for making each cushioning module 2<SB>1</SB>-2<SB>4</SB>to be positioned by the positioning element.
