The invention relates to a device for mounting a winding (10) and wedges (28) in slots (12) of a sheet stack (14) that comprises: an insertion block (26) of the winding (10) in the slots (12) that is mounted in a manner that enables it to axially move from a rear initial position situated behind the sheet stack (14); means (40) for mounting a retaining wedge (28) in each slot (12) with an axial movement toward the front, these means being radially displaced by the insertion block (26) so that each wedge (28) is secured to the insertion block (26) while sliding forward with regard to the sheet stack (14).
