PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To find a natural substance-originated active ingredient having an excellent blood glucose level elevation-inhibiting action, and provide the active ingredient as a blood glucose level elevation inhibitor.

SOLUTION: An extract obtained by extracting royal jelly with a supercritical fluid and/or a semi-critical fluid is used as a blood glucose level elevation inhibitor. The extract obtained by extracting royal jelly with a supercritical fluid and/or a semi-critical fluid can be compounded with a composition such as a food as a blood glucose level elevation inhibitor to provide a blood glucose level elevation-inhibiting composition effective for preventing and improving diabetes.
