<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrooptical apparatus wherein both sides can be displayed and thickness can be reduced as compared with a conventional one. <P>SOLUTION: The electrooptical apparatus 100 is provided with a light source 132 irradiating at least a part of a first end surface 110a of a first substrate with light and irradiating at least a part of a second end surface 120a of a second substrate with light. The first substrate is provided with a plurality of inclined surfaces 110x for polarization polarizing light made incident on at least the part of the first end surface and emitting the polarized light from a first surface opposed to an electrooptical substance on a second surface opposed to the first surface and emitting light made incident on the first surface from the electrooptical substance side from the second surface. The second substrate has a third surface opposed to the first surface of the first substrate, is provided with a plurality of inclined surfaces 120x for polarization emitting light made incident on at least the part of the second end surface from the third surface on a fourth surface opposed to the third surface and emitting light made incident on the third surface from the electrooptical substance side from the fourth surface. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
