<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a motor from being accelerated again during a deceleration period, and to prevent the generation of noise arising from re-acceleration, in performing the speed feedback control of the motor that drives a load to be driven. <P>SOLUTION: During the deceleration period from a constant speed drive state up to a stop after deceleration, not a speed command obtained by position feedback control but a deceleration command obtained using a deceleration function which is a function of an elapsed time from the time of starting the deceleration period is used as a speed command that is inputted to a speed feedback control device. This deceleration function monotonously decreases itself and its derived function becomes a monotone function or a constant. When a carriage is driven by the deceleration command generated based on such a deceleration function, the motor is stabilized and its speed decelerates without being accelerated again during the deceleration.
