<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an adiponectin-raising agent capable of maintaining a biological factors closely involving so-called lifestyle-related diseases such as hypertension, obesity, hyperlipidemia and diabetes mellitus into a normal values, and foods containing the adiponectin-raising agent, capable of lowering insulin and glucose and capable of maintaining a biological factors closely involving so-called life-style related diseases such as hypertension, obesity, hyperlipidemia and diabetes mellitus into a normal values. <P>SOLUTION: The adiponectin-raising agent comprises a 22-36C higher aliphatic alcohol as an active ingredient.
