<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for detecting/evaluating a rheumatoid arthritis (RA) disease susceptible gene and the risk of the rheumatoid arthritis in Japanese people, and also a marker, probe, primer and reagent kit for diagnosing morbidity of rheumatoid arthritis, which are used for the method. <P>SOLUTION: The PRKCH gene as a human RA disease susceptible gene, and also PK015, PK032 and PK033 (they present in LD block A), PK035, PK037, PK039 and PK040 (they present in LD block B), Ex9, Add9-1, Add9-2, Int9-1 and Add9-3 (they present in LD block C) as human RA disease susceptible SNPs are provided.
