<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the operability of a strobe light emitting section movable to a light emitting position and a stored position. <P>SOLUTION: The strobe light emitting section is freely moved between the stored position in which the strobe light emitting section is stored in a camera body and the light emitting position in which the strobe light emitting section 14 projects. By depressing an up-button 16 when the power source of a camera is on, the strobe light emitting section 14 is moved to the light emitting position. By depressing the strobe light emitting section 14 that is in the light emitting position, the strobe light emitting section 14 returns to the stored position. By turning off the power source when the strobe light emitting section 14 is in the light emitting position, the strobe light emitting section 14 is automatically moved to the stored position. By turning on the power source on next, the strobe light emitting section 14 is returned to the light emitting position again. The stored position for turning off the power source is held when the strobe light emitting section 14 in the stored position.
