PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for protecting an electrode insulating part of a discharge disintegrator so that the insulating part of the electrode is not damaged with difficulty, and to provide an electrode of the discharge disintegrator. SOLUTION: The discharge disintegrator is provided with an inner conductor 2, the insulating part 3 and multiple floating electrodes 6, wherein the insulating part 3 covers the outer periphery of the rod-like inner conductor 2, electrically insulated multiple floating electrodes 6 are provided at the outside of the insulating part 3 provided at the outer periphery of one end part of the inner conductor 2 along the extended direction of the rod of the inner conductor 2, with a discharge gap. In this electrode of the discharge disintegrator, at least two floating electrodes 6 are formed so as to have different lengths in the direction along the extended direction of the rod of the inner conductor 2.
