PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging apparatus and mobile terminal device in which a region for storing images with a large amount of data can be ensured. SOLUTION: A control unit 16 checks a free space of an internal memory 13 and an external memory 2 during a photographing mode of UXGA or more, raises an alarm for notifying a user of a shortage of free space via a display unit 17 if the free space is less than a data amount of images, and regulates photographing by a camera module 11 until deleting unnecessary data in the external memory 2 and the internal memory 13.
