<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high-molecular weight polydiphenylvinylphosphine oxide having a molecular weight of 10,000 or more which is particularly useful as a metal extracting reagent. <P>SOLUTION: The high-molecular weight polydiphenylvinylphosphine oxide is composed of a constituting unit represented by the formula (wherein Ph is a phenyl group) and has a molecular weight of 10,000 or more.
