SOLUTION: This method of measuring the area rate of the double carbide phase in the WC-based cemented carbide has the first-the fifth means, the first means is a means for preparing a specular finished face of the WC-based cemented carbide, the second means is a means for collecting a line profile of the double carbide phase by a mapping function of an EPMA, the third means is a means for measuring a form and a dimension value of the double carbide phase by a TEM, the fourth means is a means for setting a threshold value of the line profile of the double carbide phase, based on the line profile and the dimension value, and the fifth means is a means for computation-finding the area rate of the double carbide phase, by binarizing a plurality of images by the threshold value, and by processing the images.
