The hearse (1) has two side rails (3) over the rear wheel arches and a lower platform (4) on which a coffin (7) is transported on two rails (5,6) which are joined together. Where two coffins or a wider load is required the lower rails can be raised to the height of the side rails avoiding the wheel arches.
