The unit has a charge air compressor to compress a combustion air supplied to an internal combustion engine (12) of a motor vehicle, and a charge air cooler (32) to cool the air. A liquid cooling medium guiding low temperature cycle (38) has a heat exchanger (42) to cool the cooling medium. The cycle encloses the cooler and the engine and/or electronic components such as power electronics and/or direct current to direct current (DC/DC) converter and/or pulse controlled inverter and/or energy storage, which are assigned to an electric motor (14) of the vehicle.
