摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a drive unit improved in accuracy for estimating a magnetic pole position by imparting an optimum voltage command value even to a synchronous motor that is difficult in magnetic saturation. <P>SOLUTION: This synchronous motor drive unit comprises: an operator 14 and a memory device 15 that output voltage command values equivalent to standardized primary resistance values of the synchronous motor 500; a high-frequency oscillator 16 and an adder 19 that generate d-axis voltage command values for estimating the magnetic pole position by superimposing high-frequency signals to the voltage command values; a detector 17 that detects a high-frequency component of a d-axis current detected value; and a phase angle operation/switching device 18 that imparts the d-axis voltage command values for estimating the magnetic pole position to a vector rotator 12 in place of a d-axis voltage command value from a d-axis current adjuster 10 at estimating the magnetic pole position on the basis of the amplitude of the high-frequency component, operates a phase angle that determines an electrical angle at which the d-axis voltage command values for estimating the magnetic pole position are outputted, and imparts the operated phase angle to the vector rotator 12 in place of a phase angle from a phase angle operator 8.
