<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a device and a method for measuring the concentration of effective chlorine contained in a solution with improved reproducibility. <P>SOLUTION: In the device, much attention has been given to the oxidation force of the effective chlorine and a working electrode is made of copper. The device comprises an electrochemical measuring device connected to an electrode, comprising the working electrode, a reference electrode, a counter electrode, and a temperature sensor. The current-potential response curve between the working electrode and the counter electrode and temperature are fitted to a predetermined function, thus calculating an effective chlorine concentration from the plurality of parameters of the function. In this case, the current-potential response curve between the working electrode and the counter electrode is acquired by a step for acquiring the current-potential response curve between the working electrode and the counter electrode by turning back and sweeping from -0.1 V to 0 V in the opposite direction, turning back again and sweeping from 0.9 V to 1.5V after 0.9-1.5 V is reached by sweeping potential from -0.1 V to 0 V to the working electrode and the reference electrode by providing wait time for stabilizing the potential of the electrode, and a step for acquiring temperature from the temperature sensor. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
