PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging apparatus which easily provides a stabilized video image. SOLUTION: The imaging apparatus 10 comprises: a section 31 for detecting vibration of the apparatus; a section 16 performing frequency analysis of vibration of the apparatus detected at the vibration detecting section 31; a section 25 for operating optimal apparatus holding mode information, based on the analysis result from the frequency analysis section 16; and a section 15 or originating a predetermined signal, based on the optimal apparatus holding mode information operated in the holding mode information operating section 25.
