PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic imaging apparatus and an imaging method capable of effectively utilizing a storage capacity of a buffer memory without the need for a cost increase resulting from extension of the memory or the like by properly setting areas of the buffer memory without the need for complicated operations. SOLUTION: A photographing condition setting processing is used to set a photographing mode, and a consecutive mode setting processing is used to set a consecutive shot mode. A system control section refers to a buffer memory management table and determines a value of a BUFF1_NUM to be a fixed or variable value depending on a setting photographing mode. When the value of the BUFF1_NUM is a variable value, the value of the BUFF1_NUM is determined in response to the consecutive shot mode.
