PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce thickness in the direction of an optical axis and to prevent deterioration of the optical performance of a second member advanced or retracted independently of first members. SOLUTION: The light quantity adjustment device includes: the first members 1 to 3 advanced or retracted relative to an opening 5e made in a base plate 5, and used to adjust a quantity of light passed through the opening; and the second member 4 advanced or retracted relative to the opening in contact with the first members independently of the first members, and having an optical effective part 4c that adjusts a quantity of light passed through the opening. The first members or the second member is provided with a projection 1c in an area where the first and second members are in contact with each other.
