PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light emitting device and its manufacturing method which restrains unevenness of film thickness of light emitting elements when they are formed in blocks surrounded by banks and provides the light emitting device having good light emitting characteristics. SOLUTION: Banks 14 composed of lyophilic banks 14a and liquid-repellent banks 14b formed on the lyophilic banks 14a are formed on positions opposite each other across a block 8.
