PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a survey system and a survey method capable of making a measuring error very low, when irradiating a measuring object with light and for receiving reflected light thereof to measure a delay time and a distance. SOLUTION: A reference pulse light r and a measuring pulse light o<SB>1</SB>are received as light receiving signals from a light receiving part 9; a damping signal S3U is formed based on the reference pulse signal r and the measuring pulse signal o<SB>1</SB>; a micro level of signal is amplified with a high amplification factor in the vicinity of a zero cross point Q<SB>0</SB>of the damping signal S3U, and a timing signals r', o<SB>1</SB>' are formed using an amplified signal.
