PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a refrigerator capable of preventing a malfunction, excellent in the decorative property of appearance, and capable of achieving light door opening operation. SOLUTION: This refrigerator comprises a refrigerator body 2, a refrigerating compartment door 12 provided so as to be freely opened and closed, an operation means 28 for opening and closing the refrigerating compartment door 12, a switch case 20 disposed in the refrigerating compartment door 12, a plane contact point switch 19 provided in the switch case 20 and operating the operation means 28, and a flexible plate shaped member 21. The plane contact point switch 19 is stuck to the switch case 20, the plane contact point switch 19 is covered by the plate shaped member 21 larger than the plane contact point switch 19, and the plate shaped member 21 is water-tightly fixed to the switch case 20, and thereby the direct splashing of water to the end face of the plane contact point switch 19 can be prevented.
