PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pneumatic silencer, which can suppress the excessive noise occurred directly after the drive start of pneumatic equipment to the level of noise that can be permitted by human beings, for example. SOLUTION: A fade-in generating means 1 is arranged upstream side of a first sound absorbing means or a second sound absorbing means in either first passage L1 or second passage L2. Herewith, the fade-in generating means 1 comprises a spool 10 displaceable between the full open position to permit the exhaust gas circulation and the totally enclosed position to prevent the exhaust gas circulation by putting the first passage L1 or the second passage L2 into the full open condition, an actuator 11 to displace the spool 10 from the full open position to the totally enclosed position under a condition that the exhaust gas starts to circulate from the pneumatic equipment, and a coil spring 12 to urge the spool 10 in the direction from the totally enclosed position to the full open position.
