PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method capable of easily manufacturing a fatty acid polyglyceride that is high in safety and can be used for a detergent, a rinsing agent, a solubilizing agent and the like. SOLUTION: The manufacturing method of the purified polyglycerol comprises treating the polyglycerol, which is obtained by addition polymerization of glycidol in the presence of a phosphoric acid type catalyst, with an ion exchange resin. The manufacturing method of the fatty acid polyglyceride comprises subjecting the purified polyglycerol obtained by the above method and a fatty acid to esterification reaction.
