PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a film-coated tablet having a hardly breakable coated layer even in coating an uncoated tablet having a high coefficient of cubic expansion with a small amount of film, a film-coated tablet having a masked smell and to provide a method for masking a smell of an uncoated tablet having a strong smell. SOLUTION: The film-coated tablet comprises an uncoated tablet and a coated film layer for coating the uncoated tablet. The uncoated tablet exhibits 5-50% coefficient of cubic expansion when allowed to stand in an uncoated state at 25°C in an atmosphere at 60% humidity for 24 hours. The film-coated layer comprises polyvinyl alcohol. The film-coated tablet having a reduced smell of an uncoated tablet comprises an uncoated tablet and a coated layer for coating the uncoated tablet. The film-coated layer comprises polyvinyl alcohol. The amount of the film-coated layer formed is≤10 mass% based on the uncoated tablet. The method for masking a smell is provided.
