PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a conveying device capable of accomplishing a high speed accumulation process when a plurality of relatively flat articles received in a receiving position are conveyed to a delivery position while retaining them in such a state that they are accumulated fore-and-aft in a standing attitude. SOLUTION: A receiving/transfer device 12 of the conveying device is provided with receiving/transfer bases 24, 24 for receiving the articles X from a carry-in conveyor 11 on an upstream side one by one at the receiving position P1 in a predetermined receiving attitude, erecting the articles X by turning them in a standing attitude direction and receiving/transferring the articles X while successively moving over them in buckets 44, 45 provided on an accumulation/conveying device 13 from a front side by forwardly moving it. In that case, the receiving/transfer base 24 is constituted such that the receiving attitude becomes an attitude inclined from a horizontal attitude in a turning direction by an angleα.
