PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent dust or rain from entering between an outer circumferential surface of an inlet member and a belt inlet, and to prevent a mischief of inserting a finger of a child therebetween. SOLUTION: An inlet safety device for a passenger conveyor has a cylindrical inlet member 9 which houses a circulating handrail belt 5, and is inserted in a belt inlet 7 formed in a front side end of a skirt part 6 and movably supported along the moving direction of the handrail belt 5, and a guide member 14 which is arranged between the outer circumferential surface of the inlet member 9 and an inner circumferential surface of the belt inlet 7.
