PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a water filtration apparatus excellent in washing capability of a floating filtration material and made compact and lightweight. SOLUTION: A filtration chamber B and a washing chamber A are formed by installing a partition 2 in a filtration tank 1. A discharge port 10a covered with a perforated plate 5 is formed in an upper part of the filtration tank 1: a raw water flow-in inlet 9a and a filtration material transfer port 7a are formed in the bottom part of the filtration chamber B: and a sludge discharge port 12a connected to a sludge discharge pipe 12 is formed in the bottom part of the washing chamber A. A filtration material washing pipe 7 whose tip end is opened 7b and base end part is connected to the filtration material transfer port 7a is installed in an upper part of the washing chamber A and an ejector 6 is installed in the middle part of the filtration material washing pipe 7 in a manner that the suction port 6a is connected to the end part in the filtration material transfer port side of the filtration material washing pipe 7 and the discharge port 6c is connected to the end part of the tip end side of the filtration material washing pipe 7. The middle part of a raw water sending pipe 9 and the pressure port 6b of the ejector 6 are connected through a pressure pipe 11. A solenoid valve 14 for filtration operation is installed in the raw water sending pipe 9, a back pressure valve 15 for washing operation in the pressure pipe 11, and a solenoid valve 16 for discharge operation is installed in the sludge discharge pipe 12.
