A method and a system for transmitting data when a ring back tone is generated are provided to satisfy mobile subscribers' various desires by enabling data, such as a text or voice message, an image, a video, etc., transmitted from a caller who initiates a voice call, to be outputted through a receiver's mobile terminal before or after the telephone bell rings. If an originating terminal transmits specific data to an originating BS(Base Station) while making a call request to a terminating terminal, the originating BS sends the data to a data transmission server through an originating MSC(Mobile Switching Center)(S200). The originating MSC asks a serving MSC whether the terminating terminal can receive a call(S210). In case the terminating terminal can receive a call, the data transmission server checks the information of the terminating terminal(S250). The data transmission server converts the received data according to the checked terminal information and sends the converted data to the serving MSC(S260). The serving MSC sends the data to the terminating terminal together with a ring back tone(S270). |
