<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a counterfeit-preventing medium using cholesteric liquid crystal which makes it very difficult to produce counterfeit products by using a conventional color copying machine, is manufactured at a low cost, easily sets two or more different states of spiral axis directions and spiral pitches of cholesteric liquid crystal on the same medium, clearly distinguishes authentic products from counterfeit products by using a simple device, and to provide an authenticity determination method therefor. <P>SOLUTION: A macromolecular cholesteric liquid crystal layer, which reflects right-spiral or left-spiral circularly polarized light, and a cholesteric liquid crystal flake layer, which contains at least either a micro-flaky cholesteric liquid crystal whose spiral axis direction is right or a micro-flaky cholesteric liquid crystal whose spiral axis direction is left, are simultaneously and visually arranged on a substrate. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
