<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a means for significantly improving stability when a lithium ion secondary battery is increased in size. <P>SOLUTION: The discharge capacity of the lithium ion secondary battery rapidly decreases when a discharge rate grows higher. Therefore, a current is suppressed from rapidly flowing when shorted, allowing heating speed due to resistive heating to be suppressed which is an initial cause of heating. Thus, a safety measure such as shutting down function with a separator, used in a small lithium ion secondary battery, effectively functions. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
