<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printing apparatus that implements masking processes with and without data conversion by means of a common mask table when printing a single raster of multi-bit image data in a plurality of scans. <P>SOLUTION: The printing apparatus has the mask table with an irregular array of mask data, a conversion table for converting multi-bit image data into irregularly distributed and partly different print image data, and a masking part for irregularly distributing a single raster of image data into multi-scan print image data according to the mask data. The masking part uses the conversion table to extract first scan print image data and second and third scan print image data, and uses the common mask table to extract the second or third scan print image data from the second and third scan print image data. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
